In Ethics class today, someone started talking about whether or not there was such a thing as absolute truth. I opined that the question was probably beyond the scope of this course. A reference to Rashomon was thrown out.
Is there absolute truth? And if there is, what does that say about the system?

Whenever people start waxing too philosophic around me I usually answer that: Yes, there certainly is absolute truth. The problem is we can never identify it.
This allows the philosophy major-types to chew on something of a week or so. It also allows the rest of us to enjoy a week of silence and productivity =).

I have a good idea who might have said that! I'll have to hit you up for the ID later. :)

I was just about to say what Tom did. There is absolute truth. The problem is in finding it and knowing that it is THE truth.
