Well, I'm much happier with tonight's writing than I was with last night's. It's not an easy thing to keep myself from immediately going back and re-writing stuff, though. I try my best to keep from doing it, but every now and then it just sort of creeps in.
It's been wierd. Writing again feels kind of strange. It's like you're meeting an old friend, and trying to get to know him all over again. You start to wonder if you still have things in common, you wonder where he's been, what he's done. Maybe he's wondering the same about you, but you can't tell really what's going on behind that inscrutable smile. Damn annoying, really. But I'm hoping that the ice has broken a little tonight.
Anyway, it's more productive than continuing my obsessive compulsive drive to play FFT:A. Things are getting harder for our friends in the magical world of Ivalice, and now I'm a little upset that I didn't level all my characters up more. I've got to seek out easy encounters so I can do that, but that means putting the story part of the game on hold. And it means Marche may have to wait a little longer to master the Double Sword technique. And I want someone I can link to, trade characters with, and spar with. Sigh.
Carol's in Texas. Did I mention that? Reeta's sister, Beth, is effaced 70%, and dilated to a 2, last we heard. I'm a little relieved, because it means that the poor kid's probably NOT going to be born on leap day. I'm betting we'll get a call early tomorrow, saying that Samuel Ryan has been born. Reeta's dad, Bennet is here, though. It's been nice having him here. Every boy needs his Mother, but there's something about having Dad around that makes everyone a little more comfortable. (Funny thing, I would have thought people would walk more lightly around Dad than Mom, but that's just not the case in Corbin's family - or in mine, for that matter.)
But it's when they're both there to help that thngs work out best.
I don't know why, but beyond my fascination for Pokemon games and the cartoon, I'm also collecting Pokemon cards. I'm not 100% sure why, as I never play the game, and doubt greatly that I ever will. I'm much more confident with Magic: The Gathering. (btw, has anyone come up with a p&p rpg that includes MTG spells for a magic system? Seems to me that'd be fun...). I usually get one pack of cards whenever Reeta and I go to Target for something. Lately, Claire's been doing it too, and I've got to say she got some sweet cards tonight - what looks like a nice foil Blaziken, a Combusken, and some others. I got a Magnemite, another Treecko, a foil Spoink, and some others. Not as impressive as Claire's haul, believe me. When I told her I was jealous, she offered me her cards. She is the absolute sweetest.
You know, she told her Mom to take her picture, and posed herself for the shot at House of Claire. She stacked the pillows, got up there, and Reeta shot the picture. She's a sweet, funny kid. And I am a lucky so and so to have such a great daughter.
